Unfortunately, the worst fault in this horror movie isn't the amateur performances, beginner-level editing or the special effects; it's the dreadfully. The name of the slaughtering ground is called Capps Crossing, and its somewhat of a camping hotspot, with even the local ranger offering it up as one of those “secret” locations to select groups. More often, the entire stretch is a haven for those folks known as geo-cachers: pseudo treasure-hunters that. Overview Capps Crossing is located on the North Fork of the Cosumnes River. Here, campers can enjoy the fresh smell of conifers and the songs of many birds. A stream runs through the site, adding to the peacefulness of the area. Hiking trails and rock climbing areas are nearby. The Cosumnes River flows from the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada and runs for about 52 miles through California's Central Valley and into the Mokelumne River. Natural Features: Capps Crossing sits at an elevation of 5,100 feet, in the shade of cedar and fir trees. It's part of the Eldorado National Forest, located in the central Sierra Nevada. A Mediterranean climate extends over most of the forest, creating warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters. Recreation: Wading is possible in the North Fork Cosumnes River. Fishing is an option and a good spot for swimming is nearby. While exploring the river, it's not uncommon to see people panning for gold. Gold-seeking hobbyists maintain the excitement of the old days of gold mining in the region. Facilities: Capps Crossing is a group site that can accommodate 42 people. Individual sites are arranged in a single loop that forms the group site. Sites 2-5 are for tents only and sites 1, 6, and 7 can fit RVs. Site 11 is a double site that can also be reserved. The campground is designed for groups, but the individual sites may be used on a first-come, first-served basis if unreserved. Individual sites are limited to one vehicle and six people. Nearby Attractions: Visitors enjoy taking a scenic drive to many overlooks in the area. About the Movie Six hikers make their way to Capps Crossing for a long weekend of geocaching and drinking. During one of their hikes they discover a memorial for Tracy. A single rose lays at the bottom of the cross. One hiker takes the rose with him as they depart setting off a tragic series of events.
